Giant Eagle - Senior Platform Engineer - Ansible/Terraform (6-8 yrs)

Role Objective :

Giant Eagle is searching for an experienced candidate with hands on experience on Platform Engineering, Cloud/DevOps.

The Infrastructure Platform Engineer requires broad technical knowledge, it also requires someone with a good set of communication skills and an infrastructure mind. responsible for providing all technical builds and support to critical applications, he/she must be to communicate goals and instructions in a clear and efficient manner. In addition, frequently work with the developers to determine the best course of action.

The Platform Engineer is also responsible for building, configuring and maintaining complex infrastructure systems within various computing environments.

Key Responsibilities :

Your responsibilities include :

- Ensure smooth day to day operations of Giant Eagles Enterprise Platforms.

- Automate away as much of the day to day as possible - Run By Robots is the goal.

- Drive organization wide best practices for monitoring, alerting and incident management.

- Identify, respond to, and collaborate with support and product teams to resolve production

and customer issues and incidents.

- Help derive new capabilities, services and offerings while working to transition to Infrastructure as Code with an operations focused point of view.

Required Skills :

Minimum Qualifications :

- Platform, Cloud(AWS, GCP), IaC(Infrastructure As a Code Terraform, Ansible, ARM) with around 5 to 8 Years of Experience

- Experience with at least one cloud platform, preferred AZURE, and/or GCP, AWS

- Comfort with the Windows and Linux operating systems

- Install, configure, automate, and monitor various cloud services, server, and other web hosting technologies.

- Experience with scripting and automation, particularly bash or PowerShell

- Experience on Cloud Engineering and Solutioning scope

- Experience with monitoring, alerting and operations

- Experience with Database technologies and Administration (Relational and non-Relational)

- Experience with legacy web, scheduling, messaging systems and patterns

- Experience with distributed systems with high availability requirements

- Strong troubleshooting skills

- Experience with incident response

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with Azure, GCP, AWS

- Experience with Kanban, AWS and GIT.

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

- Experience running Hybrid and Legacy architectures.

- Comfort with at least one modern programming language

- Experience with IaC Infrastructure as Code - Terraform

- Experience operating highly available systems at scale

- Experience building and deploying software in a SAAS environment

- Experience with ITIL and development of Product & Service lifecycle
