Data Engineer

Description: The Data Stewards Engineer with expertise in Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365 (M365) platform, and data security fundamentals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing data governance frameworks and ensuring the integrity and security of organizational data.
Responsibilities
● Develop and implement data governance policies using Microsoft Purview to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
● Implement and manage DLP strategies to secure sensitive information across the organization.
● Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements using tools like Microsoft Purview.
● Utilizing Microsoft Purview's capabilities to ensure continuous compliance monitoring across the organization.
● Providing comprehensive support for M365 security services including privileged access management.
● Provide technical support for M365 security services, resolving service-related issues through research and troubleshooting.
● Integrate M365 platform capabilities into the organization's data management strategy.
● Implement robust data security measures to protect sensitive information across all platforms.
● Work closely with cross-functional teams including software engineers, IT administrators, and business analysts to align on project goals.
● Stay updated with the latest advancements in Azure technologies and best practices for data stewardship.
● Creation and enforcement of policies, retention, and data usage.
● Real time alerts creation and monitoring.


Job Requirements
Education
● A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, information systems, or related quantitative field; master’s degree preferred
Experience
● 5+ years of experience in a similar role focusing on data governance and stewardship
● Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview
● Familiarity with M365 platform features
● Proven project experience developing and maintaining Azure based data platforms
● Experience on Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse
● Understanding of EU GDPR principles and obligations from a personal data security perspective

Key Skill Set
● Azure Purview experience. Familiar with building catalogs and lineage
● Expertise in M365 security service
● Proficient in using Microsoft Purview for compliance monitoring
● Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Blob Storage
● Proficiency in Microsoft Purview for data governance
● Advanced understanding of data security principles
