Plant Head (Extrusion)

Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Plant Head to oversee the extrusion operations in the manufacturing facility. The Plant Head (Extrusion) will be responsible for managing the entire production process, ensuring efficient operations, maintaining quality standards, implementing safety protocols, and driving continuous improvement in line with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operations Management:
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the extrusion plant, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Ensure smooth, efficient, and cost-effective operations, meeting production targets and timelines.
• Manage and supervise the extrusion team to maintain a high level of productivity and safety.
• Quality Control:
• Ensure that all products meet the required quality standards and customer specifications.
• Implement quality control systems, identify root causes of any quality issues, and work with the team to implement corrective actions.
• Team Leadership:
• Lead, mentor, and develop the production team, ensuring they have the required skills and knowledge to meet plant objectives.
• Foster a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, safety, and continuous learning.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve production quality.
• Oversee the implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and other relevant methodologies.
• Maintenance and Equipment:
• Ensure proper maintenance of extrusion machinery and associated equipment.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule preventive maintenance and resolve equipment breakdowns promptly.
• Budget and Cost Control:
• Develop and manage the annual budget for the extrusion department.
• Monitor production costs, implement cost-saving initiatives, and optimize resource utilization.
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare and submit regular reports on production status, key performance indicators (KPIs), and any issues related to production.
• Maintain accurate records of production logs, machinery maintenance, and safety audits.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Masters degree or MBA is a plus.
• Experience:
• More than 10 years of experience in extrusion or manufacturing operations, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in managing large teams, plant operations, and implementing process improvements.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of extrusion processes, machinery, and technologies.
• Knowledge of industry standards, quality control, and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, production planning tools, and other manufacturing software.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to make decisions under pressure and handle complex operational challenges.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
