Plant Head (Injection Molding)

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Head Injection Molding to lead the operations of the injection molding plant. The Plant Head will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the plants manufacturing processes, ensuring operational efficiency, meeting production targets, maintaining quality standards, driving safety initiatives, and implementing continuous improvement strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in injection molding, leadership experience, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plant Operations Management:
• Oversee the overall operations of the injection molding plant, ensuring production targets and timelines are met efficiently.
• Develop and implement strategies for optimizing production processes, improving productivity, and reducing costs.
• Coordinate production schedules, material requirements, and workforce planning to ensure continuous and smooth operations.
• Production Planning and Execution:
• Manage production planning, ensuring proper resource allocation and optimal use of manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for production, efficiency, and quality.
• Ensure the timely production and delivery of high-quality products to customers.
• Quality Control:
• Oversee quality control procedures, ensuring all products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and company requirements.
• Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the plant.
• Promote and enforce a culture of safety, conducting regular safety audits, risk assessments, and safety training.
• Ensure that the plant follows all regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
• Team Leadership:
• Lead, mentor, and manage the plant operations team, including engineers, technicians, operators, and support staff.
• Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills, knowledge, and productivity.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Process Improvement & Innovation:
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce scrap rates, and improve product quality.
• Lead initiatives to introduce new technologies, systems, and methodologies to enhance production capabilities.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other best practices to drive continuous improvements across the plant.
• Maintenance and Equipment:
• Ensure the timely maintenance and proper functioning of injection molding machines and supporting equipment.
• Work closely with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and improve machine reliability.
• Address any technical issues or equipment failures that impact production.
• Cost Control and Budget Management:
• Develop and manage the annual plant budget, ensuring cost control and resource optimization.
• Monitor production costs, including labor, materials, and energy consumption, and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
• Analyze operational data to identify areas of improvement in cost-efficiency and performance.
• Reporting & Documentation:
• Provide regular reports to senior management on plant performance, production status, and any issues that may impact operations.
• Maintain accurate records related to production, maintenance, quality control, safety audits, and compliance.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Masters degree or MBA is a plus.

• Experience:
• More than 10 years of experience in injection molding operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive experience in injection molding processes, tooling, and machine operations.
• Proven track record in managing plant operations, driving process improvements, and leading cross-functional teams.

• Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of injection molding technologies, machines, and related processes.
• Expertise in troubleshooting injection molding machines and maintaining production lines.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and other related software.

• Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, resolve complex issues, and drive results under pressure.
• Focused on continuous improvement, with a solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
