Data Engineer
The successful candidate will join Gallagher Re at an exciting time as the company launches its new Global Advisory Product
function in our Global Strategic Advisory practice.
The team is recruiting Data Engineers and Product Managers to join us in developing innovative Data Products to support our
Global Strategic Advisory practice. We are supporting clients and internal colleagues in better understanding market opportunities,
challenges around profitability and capital structure by leveraging internal as well as external data.

About the team:
• You will join a team of experienced financial analysts, consultants and subject matter experts to develop new data products
and risk models by combining internal and external data, software engineering and industry knowledge. The team will heavily
leverage technologies such as Python, and Azure Cloud services.
• The team has strong executive support and ambitious growth plans.
• Joining the team at an early stage you will help shape and evolve our product offerings, best practices, and development
standards.
• Your work will deliver real world business value, enabling the team to offer clients market leading strategic insights, and win
new business
• This role is based in Mumbai or Bangalore, but you will work closely with colleagues in London, New York and Zurich.

Responsibilities of the role are:
• Develop fault tolerant data pipelines to support analytic data products and services
• Write readable, well designed, and well tested code
• Be comfortable working on innovative greenfield solutions that require creative solutions and pragmatic problem solving.
We are seeking an experienced professional Data Engineer with:
• 2+ years of experience developing scalable, fault tolerant data pipelines
• Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
• Experience using cloud technology, preferably Microsoft Azure technologies, which is used by Gallagher Re, in particular
Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen 2, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Databricks / Apache Spark, and Azure Synapse Analytics in the context of data engineering
• Experience working with CI / CD are beneficial
• Relevant degree qualification or equivalent industry experience as well as the following desirable qualifications:
 Diverse technical expertise: spanning data science and engineering, or software development and data engineering etc.
 Experience in the insurance industry.
