Job Description
- The Network Engineer is responsible for configuring, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting client routing infrastructure and customer/carrier IPSec VPN tunnels.
- Additionally, the Network Engineer should have a knowledge of the Network architecture required to implement and support mission-critical cellular network connectivity and associated services.
- Performs network problem debugging and resolution
- Builds and manages IPSec VPNs for customers
- Leads in the creation of documented standard processes and procedures of infrastructure management including developing and updating network firewall/router build instructions, backup procedures, disaster recovery plans, etc.
- Work closely with global network and systems engineering and software development teams to deploy and support new hosted products and services
- Configure and maintain regional network performance monitoring systems
- Develop security strategies and best practices for safeguarding network infrastructure resources
- Shift coverage for APAC hours being part of a 24/7 Team
- Plan, execute Maintenance windows and Participate in Disaster Recovery procedures
- Participate in new project design, configuration and implementation
- Upgrade information network to the most recent stable firmware release
- Provide remote help to nearby engineers and end clients
- 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting and maintaining network routing, switching, and firewall infrastructure
- Extensive experience supporting the following protocols and technologies: IPsec, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS,IPv6,VTI&GRE, PBR, NAT, VPDN ,L2TP
- Ability to absorb large amounts of technical knowledge and willingness to learn new Technologies
- Ability to work within a global team (virtually) and independently on projects (in region)
- Strong listening, communication and time management skills
- CCNA certification and experience with cellular operators a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Shares information and communicates clearly with team members to improve team effectiveness.
- Encourages and accepts feedback.
- Hands on Cisco network support, administration, monitoring, and tuning is required.
- Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision with consistency and quality.Act as an point of contact for fellow team members.
- Familiarity or hands on experience with Cisco FirePower Next Gen firewalls, FTD a major plus
- Familiarity with GSM/GPRS and 4G networks a plus, including Core Network Elements such as GGSN/PGW, HLR/HSS, and OCS
- Programming knowledge in Python and ansible.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or experience in a related field
