Position Summary:

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Procurement Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team at Fusion Scientific Laboratories, a leading USFDA and EMA accredited pharmaceutical laboratory. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the procurement activities necessary for the seamless operation of our laboratory. This includes managing the sourcing, purchasing, and distribution of raw materials, chemicals, laboratory equipment, and other supplies required for research, testing and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement Planning & Execution:
• Develop and Implement procurement strategies for sourcing laboratory materials, reagents, chemicals, equipment, and other supplies.
• Conduct market research to identify suppliers and evaluate vendor performance, ensuring the best value and quality.
• Manage procurement of goods and services in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Supplier Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, competitive pricing, and high-quality standards.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to optimize cost-efficiency without compromising on quality.
• Monitor and assess supplier performance, resolving any supply chain issues or discrepancies in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team.
• Inventory Management:
• Work closely with the inventory management team to track stock levels of critical lab materials, chemicals, and equipment, ensuring continuous availability without overstocking.
• Oversee the efficient and timely replenishment of stock, minimizing production downtime.
• Compliance & Documentation:
• Ensure all procurement activities adhere to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, especially in alignment with pharmaceutical industry regulations (e.g., Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Distribution Practices).
• Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions, supplier agreements, purchase orders, and invoices.
• Prepare regular procurement reports for management to assess budget adherence and cost savings initiatives.
• Cost Control & Budget Management:
• Assist in the preparation and management of the procurement budget, ensuring that purchasing activities stay within financial limits.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in the procurement process.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with the Formulation, Analytical and Quality Assurance teams to understand their needs and ensure the timely delivery of required materials.
• Coordinate with other departments to streamline workflows and resolve any procurement-related issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Chemistry, or a related field. A masters degree or certifications (CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and sourcing of laboratory materials.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent communication, nterpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and compliance.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time, Monday to Friday and Alternate Saturdays
• Office-based.
• Ability to work in a regulated environment with strict adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
