About the Job :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior TechOps Engineer with a strong Linux background to join our growing team in Pune.
This role is critical in maintaining and scaling our infrastructure, ensuring high availability, and driving continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate problem-solver with a deep understanding of Linux systems, networking, security, and automation.
You will be responsible for managing a large environment of 500+ VMs, contributing to disaster recovery planning, and implementing best practices for system administration.
Role & Responsibilities :
Linux System Administration :
- Expert-level administration of Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) including installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Networking :
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, segmentation), including troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
Security :
- Implementing and maintaining security best practices, including system hardening, patching, vulnerability management, and firewall configuration.
- Experience with OpenSSL, fail2ban, and OpenPGP is highly desirable.
Virtualization & Cloud :
- Extensive experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM) and cloud platforms (AWS).
- Ability to manage and scale a large virtualized environment (500+ VMs).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform is a plus.
Automation :
- Proficiency in automation tools (SaltStack preferred, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef considered).
- Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, YAML, Groovy) for automating tasks and deployments.
Monitoring & Logging :
- Setting up and maintaining monitoring and logging systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
- Proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and system issues.
Disaster Recovery :
- Contributing to the development and execution of disaster recovery plans.
- Ensuring business continuity and minimizing downtime in the event of a system failure.
Continuous Improvement :
- Identifying and driving continuous improvement initiatives for repetitive issues, automating tasks, and optimizing system performance.
Collaboration & Communication :
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
DevOps Practices :
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools, including Git (Bitbucket/GitLab), Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
