Job Description
- Sr Design Engineer
Department:
- Design
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Certification in AutoCAD or relevant design software is preferred.
Experience::
- 1-3 years of experience in solar plant design or a related field.
- Experience with AutoCAD design and PVsyst is essential.
- Experience with SketchUp or similar tools for 3D modeling and site analysis is a plus.
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in solar design tools such as Sketch-up, PVsyst, AutoCAD, etc.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design, including string sizing, inverter selection, and power distribution.
- Understanding of relevant standards, codes, and regulations
- Familiarity with SCADA, other plant monitoring systems, BESS
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality drawings.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
Job Objective:
- The Junior Design Engineer will support the design team by producing high-quality designs and technical drawings for solar PV projects. This role will also involve collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, maintaining design databases, and assisting in project documentation.
Roles Responsibilities (as stated and not limited to):
- Produce high-quality designs and diagrams, including PV layouts, wiring diagrams, earthing layouts, footing layouts, and schematic layouts using Sketch-up, Autocad etc in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Prepare PVsyst reports to support project evaluations and energy yield estimations.
- Conduct site visits to assess obstructions, LT panel distances, and other site-specific details for capacity and layout preparation.
- Work closely with Sales, Projects and Procurement teams to generate final Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Review and revise drawings to incorporate changes during the design, installation, and post-installation phases, ensuring accuracy.
- Maintain and update the project drawing and design database, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Assist Projects and Asset Management teams in resolving their technical queries and provide support in troubleshooting design-related issues.
- Maintain a high level of enthusiasm, self-motivation, and organizational skills to meet project deadlines.
