Job Description

Department:
- Design
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Certification in solar design will be an added advantage.
Experience::
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in solar plant design, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead engineering role.
- Experience in designing large-scale solar PV systems (ground-mounted and rooftop).
- Familiarity with grid-connected and off-grid systems.
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in solar design tools such as Sketch-up, PVsyst, AutoCAD, etc.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design, including string sizing, inverter selection, and power distribution.
- Understanding of relevant standards, codes, and regulations
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and plant monitoring technologies.
- Knowledge of BESS
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Leadership skills to mentor and develop junior engineers.
Roles Responsibilities (as stated and not limited to):
- Lead the design of solar PV systems, including system sizing, layout, single-line diagrams (SLD), and detailed engineering.
- Perform energy yield simulations using software such as PVsyst, etc.
- Conduct site visits to assess obstructions, LT panel distances, and other site-specific details for capacity and layout preparation.
- Work closely with Sales, Projects and Procurement teams to generate final Bill of Materials (BOMs) and provide design solutions that enhance fabrication efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Communicate with all major stakeholders (internal and external) to achieve design department objectives and ensure design document quality meets client and regulatory guidelines.
- Develop proper communication channels with Business Development, Site Survey, and Procurement teams for accurate project size assessment, layout creation, material selection, and cost estimations and optimisation.
- Review and approve vendor submissions, ensuring alignment with design specifications and quality standards.
- Provide corrective actions for design constraints and offer technical support to the Procurement, Business Development, Asset Management and Project teams.
- Identify resource requirements and assign tasks to meet design goals, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Conduct monthly training sessions to enhance team members technical skills and provide guidance for survey teams to capture necessary project details.
- Recommend new tools and technologies to optimize design processes and develop best design practices to enhance efficiency.
- Maintain proper documentation for site visits, designing and costing.
- Capture and track the status of projects in progress and ensure adherence to timelines.
