We have opening for the position of GM - Business Development in our corporate office based at Lower Parel



Position - Executive GM - Business Development



Work Location - Lower Parel.



Working Hours - Monday to Saturday - 10:00am to 6:00pm.



Qualification MBA /PGDM



Experience required - Minimum 15 to 20 years



Industry Food & Beverages / FMCG



CTC Budget: Maximum up to 30L to 35L CTC

Role: Head of Sales New Verticals (HORECA & Specialized Markets)



Position Overview:


This role is a senior sales-driven position with a strong focus on the HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, and Catering) sector, with the responsibility to explore and expand into emerging verticals such as bakery, industrial dairy, quick service restaurants (QSRs), Corporate Catering, Ship chandlers, & event-based markets like wedding Catering.


The individual will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities within these sectors and unearthing "white spaces" in Fortunes existing HORECA landscape.

Once a new vertical is successfully initiated and set up, the candidate will coordinate and hand over operations to the HORECA team, ensuring a smooth transition with continuous performance reviews until the new vertical is fully integrated and performing efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Sales Strategy and Execution:

•Develop & implement sales strategies specifically tailored for new verticals like bakery, industrial dairy, QSRs, and event markets ect...Identify potential partnerships, suppliers, & clients within these sectors to build strong sales pipelines

•Generate sales leads by identifying "white spaces" within the existing HORECA landscape, targeting underexplored markets or sectors with growth potential.

1. Market Exploration and Expansion:

  • Conduct market research to explore new growth verticals and stay ahead of emerging trends in the HORECA sector.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to evaluate the feasibility and profitability of new market opportunities, both in product offerings and market segments
  • Engage with industry stakeholders (e.g., wedding planners, QSR chains, bakery and dairy manufacturers) to introduce Fortunes offerings and secure new business.
  • 3. Cross-Functional Collaboration with Operations:
  • Once new verticals are identified and initial deals are secured, collaborate closely with the HORECA operations team to ensure the smooth operational rollout.
  • Handover sales accounts and new ventures to the operations team with clear guidelines and expectations for maintaining service standards.
  • Establish a review mechanism to monitor and evaluate the success of new verticals until they are running independently and efficiently.
  • 4. Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, particularly in QSR chains, event planners, and industrial sectors.
  • Ensure client satisfaction during the initial phases of new vertical implementations and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the handover phase.
  • 5. Performance Review and Optimization:
  • Set KPIs and performance benchmarks for each new vertical and ensure continuous review and optimization.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Business Head on the progress, challenges, and successes of new vertical initiatives.
  • Identify areas of improvement or further growth once the new vertical is operational and propose strategies for scaling.
  • 6. Reporting and Analytics:
  • Report to the Business Head on sales performance, emerging market trends, and the health of new verticals.
  • Track sales metrics, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction to ensure new verticals contribute meaningfully to overall business objectives.

Skills and Qualifications that I feel are needed:

  • Strong experience in HORECA sales, with a deep understanding of the industry and its dynamics.
  • Proven track record of exploring and expanding into new market verticals.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, particularly with QSRs, event planners, and industrial clients.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify "white spaces" and untapped markets.
  • Proficient in cross-functional collaboration, particularly with operational teams to ensure smooth handovers.
  • Strong analytical and performance review capabilities to monitor and optimize new verticals.

Key Metrics for Saurabs Success in this Role:

  • Growth in sales revenue from new verticals (bakery, dairy, QSRs, etc.).
  • Successful identification and expansion into untapped HORECA white spaces.
  • Smooth handover and operational efficiency post-sales initiation to Puneet & Salman.
  • Positive client feedback and ongoing relationships in newly explored verticals.



This role is going to work only for an individual who is highly proactive, a strategic sales leader, one who thrives on expanding business into new sectors and has to have the ability to work closely with HORECA operations to ensure sustainability & growth.




JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing and persuasion skills; hands on knowledge of using

PowerPoint/excel for basic analytics

• An inspiring leader, with strengths of organization building along with driving rapid profitable business growth

• As an individual, the incumbent should have passion for food

• A passionate exec, who inspires and motivates his team and cross functional colleagues
