PLC Developer - HMI/SCADA (5-8 yrs)

Job Description :

The PLC developer is going to be responsible for the implementation and execution of software delivery activities.

He will ensure timely and correct delivery of Schenck software and acts as a professional contact person for team members.

Main Tasks :

- Develop and implement PLC software for the latest generation of Schenck machines using industry-standard programming languages (IEC 61131-3).

- Design, code, test, and debug PLC programs for various machine control and automation systems.

- Optimize PLC code for performance, efficiency, and maintainability.

- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.

- Oversee the rollout, deployment, and commissioning of PLC software on Schenck machines.

- Monitor the performance of deployed software and proactively address any issues.

- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing PLC software installations.

- Actively participate in the development and testing of new machine prototypes.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering) to ensure smooth integration of PLC software with hardware and other systems.

- Support the transition of new developments from prototype to series production.

- Work effectively within an agile and international Scrum team environment.

- Participate in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and team workflows.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Strong proficiency in PLC programming languages (IEC 61131-3 (Structured Text, Ladder Diagram, Function Block Diagram)).

- Experience with PLC hardware and software platforms (Siemens S7, Rockwell Automation, Beckhoff).

- Solid understanding of automation principles, control systems, and industrial communication protocols (PROFIBUS, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).

- Experience with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).

Desired Skills & Experience :

- Experience with version control systems (Git).

- Experience with SCADA systems and HMI development.

- Knowledge of industrial safety standards (IEC 61508).

- Experience with simulation and virtual commissioning tools.

- German language skills
