Cloud Solutions Engineer

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the enterprise design, build and support of company cloud-based systems, including Azure and SaaS service offerings.  Work closely with the infrastructure team to plan, develop, and execute a long-term roadmap that improves the scalability, stability, and security of critical cloud-based systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Lead all efforts to oversee the global Azure hosting environment for FineLine systems and services, which includes virtual hosting of 20+ servers in 3 regions.  Ensures high availability of our FASTtrak and Backoffice websites. Responsible for compute costs and operating within budget.
• Oversee Azure network architecture to ensure strong security per industry compliance standards.  As required, harden the network and systems to ensure proper network segmentation, least privileged user access, network security groups (NSG) and software configuration on authorized ports.
• Oversee the Azure development and QA environments.
• Responsible for the Azure Disaster Recovery plan and annual test to ensure a successful fail-over of services to the Azure DR region.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery Implementation and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions using Azure Backup and Site Recovery
• Support Azure networking services, including Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, and VPN Gateways. 
• Utilize Azure Monitoring tools to track the performance and health of cloud resources, and proactively identify and resolve issues. 
• Conduct all Azure backups per backup and storage retention policy.
• Responsible for all Azure virtual machines to ensure proper capacity planning, performance, and maintenance.  Will provision new servers and upgrade existing servers with software updates and patches.
• Experience with the deployment, configuration, and management of Azure VMs. Load Balancing: Knowledge of configuring and managing Azure Load Balancers. Networking: Familiarity with Azure networking components, such as Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, and VPN Gateway
• Proactively monitors the Azure hosting environment and quickly escalates issues for prompt resolution.  Uses 3rd party services as needed to ensure the highest uptime and availability of services.
• Experience with the deployment and management of AVD environment.
• Helps in enforcing internal security policies for user access rights, PCI compliance, device policies and other policies as assigned.  
• Assists Tier I and Tier II helpdesk teams to resolve open issues.
• Automate cloud operations and workflows.
• Optimize cloud performance and cost.
• Manage network design and implementation of routers/switches/wireless/firewalls
• Monitor network to ensure optimal performance.
• Create technical support documentation for Cloud and Network.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or equivalent discipline required
• 10+ years of network and infrastructure operations and engineering experience. 
• High proficiency in Microsoft tools and technologies.  Global domain administration and configuration experience required. Experience with Azure services, architecture/infrastructure needs, computing infrastructure, supporting, maintaining cloud solutions. Expected a Certification in AZ-104, AZ-305 etc.,
• Experience with IaaS: virtual machines, networks, on-premises/hybrid cloud computing, monitoring, security models, logging, local and cloud storage.
• Experience with group policy and handling patching with Microsoft products in hybrid/cloud platform environment.
• Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, multi-tenancy, scale out and scale up architectures, shared storage solutions, and clustering solutions.
• Experience with multi-site networking, high-security, and high-availability systems
• Experience managing Azure backup systems and recovery for all file storage and servers.
• Can effectively diagnose and resolve network performance problems.  
• CCNA, or CCNP / Any Firewall certification a plus
• Supports digital certificates and renewals
• Assists the application support team in server configuration and management of servers
• High degree of ownership in all matters within the IT infrastructure
• Exceptional multi-tasking skills, as well as excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to effectively lead IT projects from start to finish with a properly conceived project plan, communications plan, and supporting documentation
• Demonstrated interest in continuous learning/expansion/leadership skills development in new areas of the IT industry.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Works with the infrastructure team to assist on all network and infrastructure projects.
