Lead - Capex Finance Management and Control

The Head-CFMC will play a critical role in in establishing financial discipline, financial performance audit & prudence for such procurement decisions and shall be entrusted with responsibility and accountability that will encompass Budgeting, Financial Planning, Controlling, Business Case Analytics, Financial Projections, Project Cashflows, Billing & Payout oversite, support for commercial negotiations and close out actions & reports etc.

Role & responsibilities

Capex Financial Management:

• Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and controlling for all capex projects exceeding Rs 1000 crore.
• Provide financial analysis and projections for all capital projects.
• Develop project cash flow statements and monitor billing, payouts, and financial compliance.

Procurement & Financial Prudence:

• Ensure financial discipline, prudence, and governance for all large-scale procurement decisions related to capex.
• Actively participate in all procurement decisions for projects above Rs. 10 crores alongside the Technical and Commercial (TC) team.
• For smaller projects, review and provide oversight in consultation with the BU CFO.

Project Oversight:

• Support business units with the financial closeout of capex projects, ensuring reports and actions are completed on time.
• Conduct performance audits for capex projects to ensure efficiency and value creation.
• Lead financial negotiations and commercial discussions to drive cost optimization.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Collaborate closely with the CFOs, CPOs, and Group Finance team to align capex strategies across different business units.
• Work with Business Unit Heads and project teams to ensure capex objectives are met in line with financial KPIs.

Reporting & Accountability:

• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of capex financial performance to CFO and CEO
• Maintain transparency and accountability in all capex-related financial decisions.
• Monitor performance against financial KPIs and initiate corrective actions when necessary

Preferred candidate profile

• CA or CFO professional degree  Mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting.
• 8+ years of experience in financial management, particularly in capital project management, procurement, and financial control in large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of financial projections, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• Proven track record of leading financial oversight in capex-heavy industries.
