Fidelis Technology Services - Network Engineer - Routing & Switching (5-8 yrs)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer L2 to join our dynamic team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in network support, troubleshooting, and configuration, with a strong focus on Cisco networking technologies.

A valid CCNA Global Certification is mandatory, and a CCNP is highly preferred. This role requires a candidate who is ready to work in a 24/7 shift environment and possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities :

- Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, and security issues, providing timely and effective solutions within agreed SLAs.

- Monitor and troubleshoot network infrastructure issues reported through various channels.

- Provide daily L2/L3 support for network infrastructure issues.

- Configure and manage Cisco 6509-E, 4506, 4507-R, 3750, 3560, Nexus 9K, and Catalyst 6880 switches with VSS.

- Configure and troubleshoot VLAN, VTP, PVST, HSRP, DHCP, Ether-Channel, and AAA on switches.

- Configure Cisco wireless controllers and access points.

- Apply and modify rules on Cisco ASA firewalls as per requirements.

- Configuration of Cisco High Routers- 4400, 4300, 3800, ASR1K.

- Install and replace switch modules (sup engines, WAN cards, SFP modules, POE line cards, switch chassis).

- Install, upgrade, and back up IOS of Cisco routers and switches.

- Perform Change Management as per the process.

- Administer and monitor daily network activities, performance, and backups.

- Utilize SolarWinds NMS and Kiwi Syslog for device management and monitoring.

- Utilize NetFlow Analyzer, Cisco Security Manager, and LANCOPE for monitoring and troubleshooting.

- Configure and troubleshoot Site-to-Site and RA VPN technologies.

- Sound knowledge on Palo Alto.

- Provide technical support for installation activities and routine troubleshooting.

- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

- Adhere to ITIL practices for incident, change, and problem management.

- Manage vendor relationships for network hardware and software support.

- Support to all BAU calls.

Required Skills and Experience :

- 5+ years of relevant experience as a Network Engineer L2.

- Strong knowledge of Cisco networking components (ASA firewalls, Layer 2/3 switches, Nexus 9K, routers).

- Extensive experience with OSPF and BGP routing protocols.

- Experience with ISE, Wireless 5508, and Cisco Catalyst switches (4500 e-series and 6500 series).

- Proven experience with VSS and VPC technologies.

- Working knowledge of TCP/IP addressing, routing, SSL, FTP, SFTP, and other OSI protocols.

- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems.

- Exposure to Citrix NetScaler Load Balancers.

- Sound knowledge of VLAN, STP, RSTP, VRF, static/dynamic routing, HSRP, VRRP, MST, and EtherChannel.

- Excellent understanding of network data and computer system diagnostic tools.

- Strong vendor management skills.

- Ability to investigate complex WAN and Datacenter LAN issues.

- Ability to handle complex network issues independently.

- Readiness to work 24/7 shifts.

- Exposure to Cisco 2900 and 3900 series routing platforms.

- Exposure to Cisco Unified Wireless Architecture concepts.

- Exposure on Cisco firewall platforms like ASA.
