Role & responsibilities

1. The Wardens shall be responsible for the health, hygiene and general welfare of the nurses residing in the hostel and shall attend to all matters of health, sickness, diet, sanitation and cleanliness and shall be responsible for the nurses and shall ensure that the nurses concerned observe the rules framed for their guidance and maintenance of decorum.

2. Ability to listen to and establish a rapport with nurses Liaison with administration and other relevant support/services departments to respond to incidents/emergencies and fulfill other responsibilities assigned such as ensuring adequate security, sanitation.

3. To ensure security of the students by coordinating with the security team and guards. They are expected to go beyond the call of duty and extend work hours in cases of emergency and if any need arises and be available on call-duty whenever required, which provides emergency cover at all times.

4. They have the authority to visit the nurses at any time in their rooms for their welfare and safety.

5. To supervise for the smooth running of the facilities provided and to plan for up gradation and maintenance of these facilities and periodically verify the hostel with the assistance of the maintenance team and take action for their repairs/replacement.

6. Warden will be responsible for the assigned resident nurses and shall promptly take appropriate action within power on all cases of misbehavior, indiscipline, and sickness of the residents in her charge and report to Head of Nursing Services for cases beyond her powers.

7. Promote a collegiate environment, good order and social harmony in the hostel. To facilitate this regular floor. Enforce discipline and code of conduct in the hostel as per the hospital policies.

8. Participate in and facilitate team work in which reliability and ability to manage time effectively will be the key.

9. Complete necessary administrative tasks such as report writing, filing incidents, documentation and record keeping with respect to hostel. Maintaining accurate records and writing reports to help to identify trends that may require action.
