Full Stack Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Web Application Development:

  • Build a scalable web application to integrate with Databricks Unity Catalog using available Databricks APIs.
  • Create user interfaces that will display Unity Catalog data (e.g., databases, schemas, tables).
  • Ensure the web application supports data filtering by region, business function, country, date, and other relevant criteria.
  • Implement Excel download functionality for users to export the data.

• Role-Level Security (RLS) Implementation:

  • Integrate RLS based on a mapping file provided by the GCPL team to manage user-specific data access and permissions.

• UI/UX Development:

  • Design intuitive, user-friendly front-end components for displaying tabular data and simple visualizations.
  • Develop 2-3 screens initially to allow users to view, filter, and interact with the data.
  • Provide basic visualizations such as bar and line graphs for a clearer representation of the data.

• Bookmarking & Filtering:

  • Implement a bookmark feature allowing users to save frequently used queries or filters.
  • Provide a flexible and easy-to-use filtering mechanism for various dimensions (e.g., Region, Business Function, Date, Database).

• Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts to understand requirements and ensure proper integration with Databricks.
  • Ensure clear documentation of the application, user flows, and features.

Qualifications:

• Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in web application development with experience in integrating third-party APIs.
  • Strong experience in Databricks and Unity Catalog integration.
  • Experience with data security and Role-Level Security (RLS) implementation.

• Skills:

  • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, React, Angular, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks for creating responsive user interfaces.
  • Familiarity with back-end integration and Databricks APIs.
  • Strong experience working with Excel download functionality in web applications.
  • Experience with data visualization tools or libraries (e.g., Chart.js, D3.js, Plotly, etc.) for creating bar and line charts.

• Tools/Technologies:

  • Databricks API integration.
  • Frontend development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
  • Excel export functionality (CSV or XLSX).
  • Role-Level Security (RLS) configuration.
  • Experience with filtering techniques and user preferences.
