Power BI Developer

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power BI Developer with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying interactive and visually appealing dashboards, reports, and data models using Power BI. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into actionable insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Power BI Report and Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and deploy Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that provide actionable insights for business users.
• Data Modeling: Build and maintain robust data models using Power BI s Power Query Editor and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to transform raw data into meaningful insights.
• ETL Processes: Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources (SQL Server, Excel, web services, etc.) and ensure data is clean, accurate, and ready for analysis.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting needs, gather requirements, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Optimization: Optimize Power BI reports for performance, scalability, and responsiveness, especially when handling large datasets.
• Data Governance: Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across Power BI reports, ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
• Documentation & Training: Provide clear documentation for Power BI reports and dashboards; assist in training users on report functionality and self-service BI capabilities.
• Support & Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI reports and data sources; provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing reports and dashboards.

Skill & Qualification:

• Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development, including report and dashboard creation, DAX, and Power Query.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI (Desktop and Service).
  • Expertise in DAX for complex calculations and business logic.
  • Advanced knowledge of data visualization best practices.
  • Familiarity with Power Query and data transformation techniques.
  • Solid understanding of database concepts and experience with SQL (T-SQL, MS SQL Server).
  • Experience with data integration, ETL processes, and working with APIs or web data sources is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Additional Skills (Optional):
  • Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, or other cloud-based data services is a plus.
