OpenShift Administrator ( IT Cloud Infrastructure Department )

As a Linux OS administrator specialized in OpenShift and IBM Cloud Pak for integration, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, enhancing and deploying applications on OpenShift.

You will also be responsible for automating tasks using bash, ansible, terraform etc. and streamlining processes, and ensuring the stability, security, and high availability of Openshift cluster.

Your expertise in OpenShift and IBM Cloud Pak will be instrumental in optimizing performance, resolving issues, applying security standards, performing OS patching, and supporting technology needs.

1. Install, configure, patch, and maintain On-Prem Air-Gaped OpenShift Cluster to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.

1. Deploy and manage containerized applications on the OpenShift platform, including setting up pods, services, routes, and service-mesh, OLM.
2. Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure continuous availability of services.
3. Collaborate with development/Support teams to troubleshoot any application-infra related issues on OpenShift.
4. Develop, test, and maintain Ansible playbooks for automating various system administration tasks, including software installations, configurations, and updates.
5. Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats, as per the approved Security Standard. This includes configuring controls, setting up access controls, and supporting configuration and system audits.
6. Apply security standards and best practices to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

7. Perform regular OS patching and updates to address security vulnerabilities and keep systems up-to-date.

8. Perform routine OpenShift backups, disaster recovery planning, and Cluster upgrades to keep systems resilient and protected.

1. Assist in capacity planning and resource allocation to optimize infrastructure performance.
2. Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.

1. IBM Cloud Pak for integration
2. Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator.
3. Red Hat Certified System Engineer.
4. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure.
5. Familiarity with other containerization platforms such as EKS, AKS, Kubernetes.

1. Strong expertise in deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
2. Proven experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RPM/Deb).
3. Proficiency in automation using Ansible, including creating playbooks, roles, and modules.
4. Solid understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, DNS, and firewall configurations.
5. Experience with containerization technologies and container orchestration.
6. Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate tasks and create custom solutions.
7. Experience in monitoring tools, and commands. (Prometheus, grafana, ELK/EFK, Loki, Cloud Watch etc.)
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
