Seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable L2 Support Analyst specializing in RPG. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of RPG programming and experience in providing second-level support for RPG-based applications. You will be responsible for troubleshooting complex issues, resolving incidents, and ensuring that applications run smoothly for end users.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide L2 support for RPG applications, responding to and resolving incidents escalated from L1
support.
• Analyze and diagnose issues related to RPG code, system performance, and application
functionality.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify root causes of issues and implement effective
solutions.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and troubleshooting steps in the ticketing system.
• Conduct regular application monitoring and performance analysis to proactively identify
potential issues.
• Assist in testing new releases and upgrades to RPG applications, ensuring compatibility and
performance.
• Provide training and guidance to L1 support analysts on RPG-related queries and
troubleshooting.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of RPG programming languages and technologies.
• Participate in cross-functional teams for projects related to RPG applications.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in IT support, with a focus on RPG applications.
• Strong understanding of RPG programming language and environment.
• Experience with IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems is preferred. • Familiarity with database management systems (DB2, SQL).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ready to work in flexible shifts
Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of modern RPG features (RPG IV, Free-Format RPG).
• Experience with application performance monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices and ticketing systems.
