Pricing Analyst

The Pricing Analyst plays a key role in developing accurate, competitive, and profitable pricing strategies for a Clinical Research Organization (CRO) operating on a project-based delivery model. This role involves analyzing project costs, market trends, and client requirements to support proposal development and business growth. The Pricing Analyst collaborates closely with Business Development, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure financial viability while meeting client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Pricing Strategy & Financial Analysis:

• Develop cost models and pricing strategies for Milestone based project ensuring competitiveness and profitability (Bid-grid)
• Conduct margin analysis and scenario modeling to optimize pricing strategies.
• Analyze client RFPs to determine pricing structure based on study complexity, timelines, and operational requirements.
• Assess direct and indirect costs, including operational expenses and passthrough expenses.
• Provide recommendations for pricing adjustments based on industry benchmarks, competitive intelligence, and financial goals.

Proposal Support & Cost Estimation:

• Collaborate with Proposal Managers and Business Development to develop accurate and timely pricing for client proposals.
• Ensure consistency between pricing models, budget assumptions, and contract terms.
• Validate pricing components to align with scope of work, regulatory requirements, and operational capabilities.
• Support negotiation processes by providing financial insights and cost breakdowns.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting:

• Work closely with Finance and Operations teams to monitor project costs and profitability.
• Provide data-driven insights to senior management on pricing trends and financial performance.
• Maintain pricing databases, templates, and historical data to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Identify opportunities to improve pricing methodologies and standardization across proposals.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Chartered Accountant required
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or budgeting within a CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotech environment.
• Experience developing pricing models for clinical trials, regulatory services, or contract research.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, cost structures, and financial metrics.

Skills & Competencies:

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, and data analysis).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple pricing requests simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cost benchmarking and competitive pricing analysis in the CRO industry.
• Knowledge of contract terms and financial risk management in clinical research.
• Understanding of global pricing models for multi-region clinical studies.
