Lab Chemist

1.Sample Collection & Analysis:

• Collect water, wastewater, and sludge samples from various stages of the effluent treatment process.
• Perform laboratory tests including TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), TSS (Total Suspended Solids), pH, COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), MLSS (Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids), MLVSS (Mixed Liquor Volatile Suspended Solids), and other relevant parameters.

2. Process Monitoring & Optimization:

• Analyze test results and collaborate with plant operators to suggest improvements in the treatment processes.
• Monitor and record key parameters to ensure the system operates within defined limits and complies with environmental discharge standards.

3.Data Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all test results, sample data, and chemical inventories.
• Prepare and submit reports summarizing analysis findings, with suggestions for process optimization and compliance.

4. Quality Control & Instrument Calibration:

• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments such as pH meters, spectrophotometers, BOD incubators, etc.
• Ensure that analytical procedures meet quality control standards and are compliant with relevant environmental regulations.

5. Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure effluent discharge complies with local, state, and national environmental standards.
• Assist in preparing data for regulatory reporting and participate in audits and inspections as needed.

6. Safety & Environmental Awareness:

• Adhere to safety protocols in the handling of chemicals, laboratory equipment, and wastewater samples.
• Ensure safe disposal of laboratory waste and chemicals in accordance with environmental safety regulations.

7. Collaboration with the Team:

• Work closely with plant operators and other team members to improve the performance and efficiency of the effluent treatment process.
• Suggest changes to improve plant processes and contribute to sustainable practices, such as water reuse and chemical optimization.
