Lab Chemist

Job Purpose:
To ensure quality control of ongoing production batches and support product/process improvement initiatives.

Business Responsibility Areas:

• Processing paint batches on a lab scale and conducting related testing.
• Evaluating alternate raw materials for cost-effectiveness and quality improvement.
• Assisting in scaling up production processes from lab to manufacturing scale.
• Addressing customer complaints and ensuring timely resolution.
• Investigating and resolving manufacturing-related issues.
• Conducting literature reviews to support innovation and process improvements.
• Contributing to new product development and driving cost-saving initiatives in existing formulations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Timely and accurate lab-scale testing.
• Successful evaluation and implementation of alternate raw materials.
• Effectiveness in scaling up production processes.
• Customer complaint resolution rate and time.
• Innovation and cost savings achieved in product formulations.

Role Requirements / Specifications

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Coating/Paint/Materials/Concrete/Chemistry or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience in Coating/Paint/Materials/Concrete/Chemistry.

Previous Experience:

• Preference for candidates with experience in the paint industry.
