Database Administrator - SQL Server (3-8 yrs)

Job description :

MS SQL Server Database Administrator.

You will have the following responsibilities :

Design and collaborate :

- Support interdisciplinary projects involving large numbers of developers and consultants, while working very tightly with our internal IT Services team.

- Identify automation opportunities and drive automation to increase database, data stores and data pipelines performance and value-add.

- Drive and champion database best practices, their knowledge management and facilitate training to platform teams on database technologies and data integration methodologies.

Build and operate :

- Build database solutions of high availability and quality align to internal stakeholder requirements.

- Configure, maintain, optimize databases and ensure data access and infrastructure controls are in place to safeguard against data losses and data breaches.

- Assist developers in identifying and correcting database-related issues.

- Support platform owners in driving efficiency of database procedures for responsible business applications.

- Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards.

- Manage and monitor DB performance, database health and security posture.

- Perform regular database maintenance, patches, data quality checks and troubleshooting activities.

You have the following qualifications :

- Bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related quantitative field.

- AWS Certified: AWS Database Specialty.

- Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate.

- 5+ years of relevant working experience, preferably in the financial industry.

- Practical experience of at least one common Enterprise Agile Framework i.e., Kanban, SAFe, SCRUM, etc.

- Practical experience with Database Access Management and Database Security (DB Hardening, DB Audit, DB Policies, etc.)

- Practical experience with MS SQL Server database administration including management of "Always On Availability groups".

- Practical experience MS SQL Server performance optimization.

- Excellent communicator with team-oriented approach.

Desired :

- Experience with workload automation scheduling tools like Control-M.

- Experience with PostgreSQL.

- Strong programming skills with advanced knowledge of Python and other languages.
