Director - Engineering - Wallet/Prepaid - FinTech (8-14 yrs)

Job Overview: We are seeking a seasoned tech lead with hands-on experience in building and scaling prepaid payment instrument (PPI) systems, including wallets and prepaid cards, within a fintech environment. The ideal candidate should be proficient in payment processing technologies, regulatory compliance, and integrating PPI frameworks into digital platforms. A focus on security, scalability, and performance will be crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

- Technical Architecture & Strategy: Design and implement technical solutions for PPI systems, ensuring alignment with product strategy and compliance.

- System Development & Integration: Lead the design, development, and deployment of PPI systems from scratch, focusing on secure and efficient payment processing.

- Collaboration: Work closely with product management, compliance, and design teams to deliver solutions that meet user needs and regulatory standards.

- Scalability & Performance: Ensure systems are optimized for performance and can scale with growing demand, with a focus on reliability and high uptime.

- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to junior engineers and ensure best coding practices and engineering standards across teams.

- Compliance & Security: Ensure all technical systems adhere to industry regulations (RBI, PCI-DSS) and implement robust security measures.

- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement real-time monitoring systems, troubleshoot issues, and continually improve system performance through iteration.

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent; advanced degree preferred

- 8+ years in software development, with a focus on payments, PPIs, and fintech; experience with credit card processing is a plus.

- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of payment gateways, API integrations, security protocols, and financial data processing.

- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a metrics-driven approach to solving technical challenges.

- Leadership: Proven ability to lead technical teams and influence across departments.
