- The Sr. Manager - IR/HR will play a pivotal role in managing and leading the Human Resources and Industrial Relations function for the manufacturing plant. The candidate will be responsible for implementing HR strategies, ensuring compliance with labor laws, fostering positive employee relations, and driving initiatives that align with organizational goals.
- This role involves leading employee engagement, talent management, and driving IR activities to ensure a harmonious work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Industrial Relations (IR):
- Develop and implement effective industrial relations strategies to foster a positive labor-management relationship.
- Manage collective bargaining, negotiations, and settlements with unions.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory regulations, and legal matters related to employees.
- Handle disciplinary actions, grievance resolution, and ensure timely and amicable dispute resolution.
- Manage employee strikes, work stoppages, and maintain industrial peace.
2. Human Resources (HR):
- Lead the recruitment and selection process for the manufacturing plant.
- Implement performance management systems, employee appraisals, and talent management strategies.
- Design and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
- Develop HR policies and ensure compliance with organizational standards and local regulations.
- Drive employee engagement, motivation, and retention programs to maintain a positive work culture.
3. Compliance & Statutory Requirements:
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, statutory compliances, and all legal HR aspects.
- Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and ensure compliance with PF, ESI, gratuity, etc.
- Handle audits and inspections related to labor and employment regulations.
4. Employee Welfare & Relations:
- Lead welfare activities, including employee safety, health, and hygiene initiatives.
- Promote a healthy work environment by driving wellness and diversity programs.
- Ensure effective communication between management and employees, fostering transparency and trust.
5. HR Operations:
- Oversee HR operations including attendance management, employee records, and HR metrics reporting.
- Monitor HR KPIs and continuously improve HR processes and systems for better efficiency.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on HR-related strategies aligned with business goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: MBA/PGDM in HR/IR or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: Minimum of 15+ years of experience in HR and IR roles within the manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in managing complex industrial relations and working with unions.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, statutory compliances, and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in leading HR functions, including recruitment, performance management, and employee development.
