Position / Job Title: Finance Manager
- India & SEA Business Segment/ Function Personal care & Performance Specialties.

Reports to: Finance Director APAC
Location: Taloja
Position Summary:
1. As the finance manager of India and SEA, this role involves oversight of the entire finance function of the India and SEA business/plant, building a foundation of the key business and finance aspects including but not limited to reporting, costing structure, tax compliance, and system enhancements.
2. Being the major or only source of knowledge for India and SEA finance, with the familiarity and control of all local finance areas, the position will advise group and regional finance and business leaders/stakeholders on India and SEA finance matters, including but not limited to local product cost analysis, India and SEA countries taxes and other local regulations, etc.
3. The position demands a high level of expertise, a broad understanding of multiple finance areas, and leadership to steer the financial accuracy and health of the local business. It is also important to have the correct processes and system formulated within the department so the team is synchronized and compliant.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with both group IFRS and local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and guide to rebuild an accurate costing structure of the products made in India plant taking into consideration the manufacturing process and unique aspects of the plant, besides regular costing process including maintaining timely and accurate standard cost, analyze production costs evolvement and variance against standard, and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies improvements.
- Build a foundation of tax management for both India and SEA countries: Supervise both direct and indirect tax formulation and adherence to tax-related compliance measures, with a deep understanding of India and major SEA countries' tax laws in corporate income tax, GST tax, import duty, and general understanding of transfer pricing which enables working with external advisors on timely transfer price report filings.
- Lead and coordinate ERP and systems enhancement projects to enable a robust system capability with local needs such as GST and withholding tax localization, local production process and streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy.
- Compliance and audit Oversight: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, oversee audits, and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure timely completion of group and local audits.
- Local Filings: oversee and ensure timely local filings including but not limited to annual/ quarterly/ monthly tax filings, transfer price filing, AGM filing and etc.
- Internal Control: general knowledge in internal control, work with group/Asia finance and local functions to establish local Rish and Control Matrix and oversee local implementation of the controls, responsible for controls under finance teams responsibility and ensure controls are effectively operated.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage capital fund and working capital effectively, optimize cash flow with inter-company stakeholders, and ensure liquidity to support day-to-day operations and capital investment initiatives.
- Capital Investment: Evaluate capital investment opportunities, assess ROI on projects, and provide financial guidance on new investments.
- Leadership: provide leadership to India finance team, build clear role and responsibility within the team and utilize people resource effectively; engage and develop team members.
SEA finance responsibility:
- Financial Reporting: oversee the external service provider for month end closing, check the accuracy of financials and ensure its timely reporting in group finance system.
- Local Filings: oversee and ensure timely local filings including but not limited to annual/ quarterly/ monthly tax filings, transfer price filing, AGM filing and etc.
- Internal Control: ensure Elementis Malaysias compliance with internal controls especially for the payment process and financial reporting process.
- Other: support other SEA initiatives from a finance perspective.
Job:
Competencies:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures, supply chain dynamics, and inventory management.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and experience in system implementation and enhancement, JDE knowledge a bonus.
- Hands on with proactivity and forward-thinking mindset; approachable and willing to roll up his sleeves and be comfortable at the operational level.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and build consensus.
- Familiarity with Indian regulatory compliance and reporting requirements within the manufacturing industry.
Qualification Experience & Other Requirements:
- Masters degree in accounting or equivalent/CA.
- 10-12 years experience in finance and accounting area in multi-national companies with plants and exports and imports.
- The Position is not a Hybrid or WFH.
- Candidate must reside near the Vicinity of the site so that daily commute to the plant is not an issue.
- Should be able to speak fluent English.
