Billing Engineer-Civil Project

Key Responsibilities:

Billing and Invoicing:

1. Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ): Draft detailed BOQs based on project plans, specifications, and actual work executed.
2. Generate Client Invoices: Prepare accurate client invoices, ensuring alignment with contracts and agreements.
3. Subcontractor Billing: Verify and process bills submitted by subcontractors, checking for compliance with project terms.
4. Progress Billing: Track project progress and prepare progress-based invoices for stakeholders.

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

1. Quantity Take-Offs: Analyze drawings, plans, and specifications to estimate material and labour requirements.
2. Cost Control: Monitor project costs against the budget and report variances.
3. Rate Analysis: Calculate rates for new work items as required.

Documentation and Reporting:

1. Maintain Billing Records: Keep accurate records of all billing-related documentation, including receipts, approvals, and agreements.
2. Project Reports: Prepare regular financial and progress reports for management review.
3. Tax Compliance: Ensure proper inclusion of taxes (GST, VAT, etc.) in all invoices as per local regulations.

Coordination and Communication:

1. Collaborate with Project Teams: Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to gather data for billing purposes.
2. Client Coordination: Address client queries and concerns related to billing.
3. Site Visits: Conduct site inspections to verify work progress and quantities for billing.

Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in quantity surveying, BOQ preparation, and rate analysis.
• Knowledge of civil engineering standards and construction processes.
• Familiarity with billing and project management software like AutoCAD, MS Excel, SAP, or ERP systems.
• Understanding of tax regulations and financial compliance related to construction billing.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Additional certification in quantity surveying, project management, or cost estimation is a plus.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills .
• Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach.

Experience:

• 3–5 years of experience in construction billing or related roles in civil engineering projects.

Work Environment:

• Combination of office work and on-site visits.
• Interaction with various teams, including project site engineers, contractors, and clients.
