Role Description

  • Professional vendor management is becoming an increasingly important topic not only for Deutsche Bank, but also from the perspective of various regulators. In order to improve the quality of vendor management at DB, Global Procurement has tasked all divisions and infrastructure functions to implement a Divisional Vendor Management Office (DVMO) and to centralize all relevant tasks of the sourcing lifecycle there.
  • The Infrastructure Vendor Management Office (iVMO) Business Partner Team reports to the Global Head of the Infrastructure Vendor Management Office, who reports to the Global Head of Procurement COO, and is responsible for implementing the core elements of the bank-wide Sourcing Lifecycle framework as well as developing it further, considering function-specific requirements. This starts with providing demands-based advice on sourcing strategy, efficient and effective execution of sourcing events, and further focuses on ensuring vendor services are in line with DB policies and regulatory requirements. Therefore, the iVMO Business Partner works closely with the Service Owners in the respective areas/countries as well as the Banks Control Functions and Global Procurement.
  • The iVMO Business Partner Team is responsible for managing and controlling the procurement of services in areas under cost and risk aspects, strategic consulting and monitoring of sourcing projects and their contractual design for the entire Vendor Portfolio

Your key responsibilities

  • Drive the vendor demand management for the HR division according to the global divisional vendor strategy and within the scope of the assigned products and regions including the regular reconciliation of relevant service categories
  • Work closely with HR divisional product owners and regions as well as Global Procurement - Category Management to successfully manage sourcing demands and translate requirements into vendor services
  • Review and challenge Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Business Case in collaboration with HR Service Owners and Global Procurement to develop a successful sourcing strategy
  • Advise HR product owners on the definition of sourcing demands and execute sourcing processes (RfP/RfI) as appropriate, as well as other pre-deal activities
  • Granting of Approval to Source for HR sourcing demands
  • Management of contract negotiations and contract implementation incl. compliance with regulatory and DB specific requirements
  • Support transition management activities in collaboration with colleagues in the wider iVMO team
  • Set up and drive implementation of Management Information and Reporting for the HR Portfolio (KPI s, thresholds, pipeline)
  • Assist the wider infra BP team with process and efficiency initiatives as and when required

Your skills and experience

  • Solid experience in procurement and/or third-party risk management and related methodology/processes
  • Good understanding of services typically purchased externally
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform effective data analysis
  • Experience in vendor and contract management and related governance, knowledge of vendor service delivery metrics (SLA/KPIs/KRIs)
  • Self-organized, pro-active, structured and independent working style
  • Strong presentation skills coupled with negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Global experience and intercultural competence combined with very good coordination and communication skills
  • High motivation, and ability to work in a fast-paced and global business environment
  • Good judgment regarding risks, regulatory requirements, controls in general
  • Fluent English written and spoken
