Role:
The Associate Director - Decision Science - will lead the Decision Science team, driving data-driven insights and strategies that support Droom's growth objectives. This role requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in data science, analytics, and machine learning, who can translate complex data into actionable business insights. The ideal candidate will excel in statistical modeling, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration, with a strong ability to mentor team members and communicate analytical findings to diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and oversee the Decision Science team to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization, supporting Droom's strategic goals.
2. Develop, implement, and optimize models and algorithms to solve complex business problems and improve customer experience.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales, to identify data and analytics needs.
4. Provide actionable insights on customer behavior, market trends, and operational performance to inform business strategies.
5. Establish and monitor KPIs to track business performance and optimize key decision processes.
6. Drive end-to-end analytical projects from ideation to execution, ensuring alignment with company objectives and data governance standards.
7. Mentor and guide junior data scientists and analysts to build a strong, effective Decision Science team.
8. Stay updated with the latest trends in data science, machine learning, and AI to incorporate best practices and innovations.
9. Proven experience in creating and managing dashboards and reports to provide real-time insights for quick decision-making by management.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Master's degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field; PhD is a plus.
- 6-8 years of experience in data science, decision science, or analytics, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and experience with data processing frameworks such as Spark.
- Familiarity with data engineering concepts and tools like Hadoop, Kafka, or similar technologies.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset and the ability to communicate complex analytical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience in leading projects related to predictive modeling, segmentation, recommendation systems, or similar areas.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and drive cross functional collaboration.
- High degree of integrity and work ethics, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
