General Manager - Hotel Operations

Role & responsibilities

1. Directs and coordinates hotels activities to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations, and maximize full potential with a balanced focus on hotels mission, guests, employees and management satisfaction.

2. Lead the team of hotel HODs and Staff and responsible for administration, Monitor, maintains the progress and FF&E (Furniture, Furnishings, and Equipment) conditions and provide status report to Vice President-Operations & Sales.

3. Acts as the hotels public relations director and promotes the property within the hotel industry, local community and trade associations.

4. Monitor the Guest feedback on Trip advisor, OTA's etc.

5. Assigns duties to HOD's and observes performance to ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures.

6. Provides training to staff and HOD's.

7. Receives and resolved in resolving guest complaints and service recovery process.

8. Selects or assist in the selection of hotel staff and completes all new hire paper works.

9. Review employee performance and conducts personnel actions such as disciplinary actions

10. Maintains accurate records including cash flows sheet, guest floor limit, Direct billing etc.

11. Ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOPs, policies, procedures and service standards.

12. Ensures the objectives and goals of Marriott and property owners work together to achieve brand positioning and success.

13. Ensures property, grounds, physical plant and work areas maintained to standard.

14. Builds strong working relationships and communications with hotel staff, HOD's and other departments to ensure maximum operating effectiveness and fulfilment of special event need.

15. To take care of Laundry Operations and Machinery and Equipment in the hotel.

Preferred candidate profile

Age below 45 yrs. With 3 year Diploma / Degree in hotel management or a related field with experience in opening, managing or re-positioning a hotel with clear track record.

Strong management skills, ability to appropriately assign or delegate work and authority to others in the accomplishment of goals. And provide coaching, advice and assistance as required.

Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
