Job Description
DocuSign is looking for a seasoned manager to join our Cloud Engineering team, which is focused on building scalable, fault-tolerant, and reliable distributed systems. The Cloud Engineering team at DocuSign manages the deployment infrastructure for all services at scale to support the companys continued rapid growth. The ideal candidate will finish the aspects of the software development lifecycle, including the services design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. A successful person in this role will have a flexible attitude and the skills for interacting with multi-functional teams to learn and deliver. They will also lead and mentor junior engineers in the team to drive projects to completion as a group.
Responsibility
- Define and communicate the long-term strategy for the Cloud Productivity platform aligned with company goals
- Manage a team of 5+ engineers and contribute towards the growth of this team
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of engineers
- Work with partners across Cloud Engineering, TechOps, Security, and Product teams to ensure alignment
- Partner closely with collaborators to understand requirements and sources of friction in order to inspire changes across the team
- Take full ownership of the multiple components and services, from initial development through automated testing and deployment
- Participate in an Agile environment using Scrum software development practices, automated unit testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and version control systems (GIT)
- Ensure our components, tools, and services meet high standards of performance, security, and scalability
What you bring
Basic
- 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong background in both backend and frontend development
- 5+ years of profession experience managing engineers
- Experience with C#, Java, C++ or any other Object Oriented language
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, event-driven architecture, and scalable infrastructure
- Experience with driving decisions based on Telemetry and metrics to take a data driven approach
Preferred
- Ability and willingness to work across different technology stacks and learn new technologies quickly
- Genuine passion for technology, with a focus on sustained high-performance systems
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
