Job Title: Manager - US Accounting
Location: Mohali, India
Timing: 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM (India Time)
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager of US Accounting to join our growing team.
This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely financial reporting for our US-based clients.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US GAAP, tax regulations, and accounting best practices, along with excellent analytical and communication skills.
This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Management: Maintain and organize digital and physical financial records for US-based clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Transaction Analysis & Reporting: Assess all business transactions, analyze financial data, and prepare accurate and insightful reports, including financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) and other management reports.
- Tax Planning & Compliance: Coordinate with clients and internal teams on income tax research, US accounting planning, and compliance.
- Prepare and file all federal, state, and local income tax documents accurately and on time.
- Auditing & Internal Controls: Conduct periodic audits to guarantee the accuracy of financial records, expenses, and savings.
- Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard client assets.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process, working with clients to develop realistic financial plans and monitor performance against budget.
- Financial Analysis & Recommendations: Regularly brief management on the financial position of clients and recommend solutions to improve results, optimize cash flow, and enhance profitability.
- Policy & Process Development: Develop and implement effective accounting policies and processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Regulatory Updates: Stay up-to-date on industry changes and changes in US accounting regulations (GAAP, tax laws) and ensure compliance for all clients.
- Client Communication: Respond to client inquiries regarding tax and accounting-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other team members, including virtual CFOs, financial analysts, and administrative staff.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in US accounting, preferably in a public accounting firm or similar environment serving US clients.
Technical Skills:
- Outstanding knowledge of US GAAP and tax regulations (federal, state, and local).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g, QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify trends and insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to clearly and concisely explain complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences
