Sr. Manager - Forex/Treasury

Role & responsibilities

• Monitor forex markets, particularly related to global metal (steel, aluminium etc.).
• Manage currency risk, offering strategies to mitigate adverse effects of FX rate volatility on financial stability, such as currency swaps, hedging, forward contract & derivatives including futures, options strategies, forwards and swaps etc.
• Execute forex transactions and manage currency exposure for global business operations.
• Develop and implement hedging strategies to mitigate currency and metal risks.
• Manage and execute derivatives (futures, forwards, options strategies, swaps) focused on currency and commodities markets.
• Analyse market conditions to identify opportunities for hedging or arbitrage.
• Ensure integrity of pricing, trading, and valuation models for derivative instruments.
• Collaborate with senior management to create and enforce risk management policies.
• Monitor and execute risk limits, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Assess and report price exposure to metals and foreign exchange, suggesting mitigating actions.
• Provide regular market analysis on forex trends, interest rates, carbon credits, and metals.
• Prepare reports on forex, derivatives, metals, and carbon markets for senior management.
• Work with finance, accounting, and legal teams to ensure alignment on treasury-related activities.
• Liaise with external counterparties such as banks, financial institutions, and commodity exchanges for currency and metals hedging.

Preferred candidate profile

• MBA/CA with FRM or treasury certifications preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience in forex, treasury, risk management, with fair knowledge in metal and carbon markets.
• Strong understanding of financial instruments, derivatives, and their associated risks.
• Familiar with financial regulations e.g., FEMA, RBI policies (added advantage if the candidate is having knowledge of policies and regulations of other various jurisdictions e.g. UAE, KSA, Australia, Mauritius etc.) and compliance standards.
• Knowledge of Bloomberg and Reuters for market analysis and reporting.
• Proficient in financial modelling, Excel, and treasury software/ module (e.g., SAP TRM).
• Understanding of LC, SBLC, Buyers Credit, Suppliers Credit, ECB etc.
