Job Title: Static Equipment Design Engineer (Urgent Requirement)

Job Location: Navi Mumbai

Work Mode: In-Office

Key Skills & Expertise:

• Static Equipment Design: Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Storage Tanks, Columns, Reactors, etc.
• Software Proficiency: PV Elite
• Design Standards: ASME, API, ASTM
• Experience in External Load Analysis: Nozzles, Structural Attachments (e.g., clips, trunnions, lugs, legs, skirts, saddles)
• Fabrication & Welding Knowledge: Pressure Vessels, Columns, Heat Exchangers
• Technical Document Preparation: Design Basis, BOM, Purchase Requisitions

Role & Responsibilities:

Design & Drawing Review:

• Review purchase orders and technical specifications/drawings provided by clients to ensure compliance.
• Prepare input review findings and communicate them clearly.
• Assign tasks to Draughtsman for preparation and review of drawings and documents supplied by clients.
• Provide Draughtsman with all necessary inputs for drawing preparation.
• Develop and implement design development plans.
• Oversee checking of Draughtsman-prepared drawings, ensuring design calculations and modifications are accurate.
• Review and verify drawing revisions post-corrections by Draughtsman before submission to clients and the factory for fabrication.
• Issue Bill of Materials (BOM) to the Purchase Department for procurement.
• Follow-up with clients for drawing comments and approvals.
• Upon receiving client feedback, review comments, and assign them to Draughtsman for revision of drawings.

Design & Engineering Support:

• Utilize PV Elite software for design and analysis of static equipment.
• Analyze external loads on nozzles and structural attachments (e.g., clips, beam seats, trunnions, lugs, legs, skirts, saddles).
• Ensure all designs conform to ASME Section II, ASME Section VIII, Div.1, and ASTM standards.
• Supervise and assign tasks to junior engineers, ensuring accurate calculations, sketches, and drawing reviews.
• Prepare material requisitions and provide technical inputs for subcontract packages.
• Check drawings for design conformity and stamp them as necessary.
• Ensure proper drawing recheck procedures are followed.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and vendors to review inter-discipline drawings.

Project Coordination & Supervision:

• Provide technical oversight and supervision for static equipment design and fabrication.
• Organize and prioritize work to meet project requirements and milestones.
• Negotiate and resolve critical issues with senior engineers and officers from other organizations.
• Update and maintain the departments Design Basis for projects.
• Monitor overall project productivity, efficiency, and identify potential issues that may affect timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to resolve inter-disciplinary issues and ensure effective resource sharing.
• Implement and track productivity targets for mechanical team members.
• Manage and review manpower forecasts and overtime within the mechanical team.
• Conduct regular meetings with the mechanical team to monitor project progress and evaluate performance.
• Ensure that all mechanical design and fabrication processes meet project standards and objectives.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Provide inputs on documents and drawings from other disciplines.
• Review and assess project performance and team efficiency.
• Ensure that project milestones and budget constraints are met.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience: 3 to 6 years in mechanical design, fabrication, and testing of static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, etc.).
• Software: Proficient in PV Elite.
• Knowledge: Strong background in ASME, ASTM, and other relevant standards.
• Experience: External load analysis, welding, post-weld heat treatment, inspection, and testing.
• Additional Skills: Experience with API 650 tanks is a plus.

This is an urgent requirement, and the selected candidate will be expected to deliver high-quality designs while adhering to deadlines and standards in a dynamic work environment.
