We are looking for a Compliance Officer who will be responsible for developing and executing government affairs strategies, building relationships with key stakeholders, and representing our company's interests with regulatory bodies.
You will play a pivotal role in influencing the regulatory environment for the Virtual Digital Assets sector in India and ensuring that our company complies with the relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to influence policy decisions and advocate for a fair and transparent regulatory framework.
- Stay abreast of evolving VDA regulations, assess their impact on the company, and work closely with internal teams to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct stakeholder mapping and engagement, including organizing meetings, and workshops to educate and sensitize government officials, lawmakers, and other stakeholders on industry issues and best practices.
- Develop and implement crisis management plans to address regulatory challenges and issues, providing guidance to the company on mitigating risks and responding effectively.
- Collaborate with industry peers, associations, and advocacy groups to form coalitions and joint initiatives that advance the interests of the VDA sector.
- Provide regular updates to the leadership on regulatory developments, and their potential impact on the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree, preferably in a relevant discipline.
- Over 10 years of cumulative experience, the last few roles having been in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory advocacy, preferably at a start-up / in the tech sector.
- Strong understanding of Indian regulatory processes and an extensive network of government contacts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex regulatory issues and develop actionable strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Maintain highest professional levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality and integrity.
- Must be flexible and demonstrate strong decision-making skills, and political acumen.
