General Manager Legal and Compliance Head
About the role:
- As Head of Legal, Compliance & Regulatory you will lead all Legal, Regulatory Affairs and Compliance activities for the business.
- The role is responsible for advising the Leadership team, Senior Management and Key Stakeholders on all legal and regulatory obligations, protecting its interests and ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements that affect its business activities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of Compliance officers, Company Secretary and Legal officer.
- Analyze legal risks and opportunities, creating strategies to protect business and foster growth.
- Manage key disputes, crises, and conflicts with consumers, customers, authorities, competitors, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor emerging legal and regulatory trends, ensuring the business stays ahead of potential risks.
- Develop and enforce guidelines and policies to minimize legal risk and protect business assets.
- Assist the Regulatory team with communication material, product labels, notifications, registrations, and reimbursements.
- Provide regular reports on legal matters such as litigation, company status, and intellectual property to central teams.
- Advise on industrial relations matters, ensuring compliance with labour laws, employee regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Conduct training for business teams on legal, compliance, and regulatory topics.
- Collaborate closely with management to establish a comprehensive legal and compliance framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Qualified lawyer with 10+ years of experience in legal and regulatory services.
- Experience working in a law firm or with a regulatory authority is highly desirable
- Superior knowledge of industry regulations and corporate procedures for maintaining compliance
- Strong organizational skills - the ability to coordinate and prioritize many different tasks/projects at the same time and the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines.
