Video Input Training Head

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop Guidelines for Video Footage Collection: Create clear guidelines for video footage collection process tailored to the needs of categories of reporters:

• City Reporters
• Special Reporters

2. Design and Execute Training Plans:

• Identify training needs
• Develop training sessions aligned with the guidelines.
• Implement comprehensive and practical training modules for all relevant teams.

3. Daily Video Input Review:

• Share examples of three good and three improvable video inputs with each state/section daily (except Sundays).
• Provide actionable feedback on two aspects:

○ What is good and why it works.

○ What isnt good, why it doesnt work, and how it can be improved.

• Ensure feedback is detailed and practical to maximize learning outcomes for the team.

4. Integrate Technology and Innovation into the System:

• Adopt cutting-edge technologies, tools, equipment, and processes for journalistic video footage collection tailored to DBs needs.
• Pay special attention to innovations in mobile-based video collection.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience: A seasoned professional with 7-8+ years of experience managing a video input desk.
• Expertise: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in video journalism.
• Collaboration: Deep understanding of how reporters operate on the ground and proven experience working with them to secure high-quality video inputs and footage.
• Training: Proven ability to plan and deliver impactful training sessions.
• Tech Savvy: Familiarity with technical tools and expertise in mobile-based journalism practices.
