Cyanous - Quality Assurance Test Engineer - ETL Testing (4-7 yrs)

Role Overview :

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Test Engineer with hands-on experience in testing data pipelines, ETL processes, and analytics platforms. The role will involve validating data ingestion pipelines developed using IBM StreamSets, testing ETL workflows built on Azure Data Bricks, and ensuring the accuracy and performance of Power BI reports and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities :

- Perform end-to-end testing of IBM StreamSets ingestion pipelines, ensuring data completeness, correctness, and integrity.

- Test Azure Data Bricks pipelines for data transformation, performance, and scalability.

- Validate Power BI dashboards and reports, focusing on DAX calculations, visualizations, and business logic.

- Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for data validation and reconciliation.

- Automate testing for ETL pipelines and dashboards where applicable, using tools or custom frameworks.

- Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.

- Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

- Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance requirements during testing.

- Perform regression testing to ensure system changes do not impact existing workflows.

- Provide regular updates on testing progress and issues to stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience :

- Data Testing Expertise : 3-6 years of experience in testing data pipelines, ETL processes, and analytics solutions.

- Experience testing ingestion pipelines, preferably using IBM StreamSets or similar tools.

- Hands-on experience with ETL workflows, with a focus on Azure Data Bricks pipelines.

- Proficiency in validating Power BI dashboards, including DAX and data modeling.

- Strong SQL skills for data validation, query testing, and troubleshooting.

- Experience with test automation tools/frameworks (e.g., Selenium with Python/Java, or custom ETL testing tools) is a plus.

- Soft Skills : Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with Azure services such as Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory.

- Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Alation) and data quality platforms (e.g., Monte Carlo).

- Knowledge of performance testing for ETL pipelines and dashboards.
