Data Science Manager - R/Python (5-10 yrs)

Responsibilities :

In this role, you'll :

- Lead a team to deliver impactful credit risk solutions for underwriting, exposure controls, and line management.

- Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams to implement risk strategies.

- Analyze loss trends and simulate risk decisioning strategies to optimize revenue and approval rates.

- Identify and evaluate new data sources to enhance risk differentiation.

- Develop risk scorecards leveraging internal and external performance data for underwriting and account management.

- Create presentations to articulate risk strategies for leadership teams.

- Work with the data science team to recommend credit risk decisioning and model deployment strategies.

Requirements :

- Strong quantitative background in engineering, statistics, mathematics, economics, business, or related fields.

- 4+ years of experience analyzing data using tools like SQL, Python, R, or Databricks in a finance/analytics context.

- At least 1 year of experience leading a high-performing team of analysts.

- Exposure to non-traditional data (e.g., social media) is a plus.

- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving, multitasking, and attention-to-detail skills.

- Prior model-building experience is a bonus.

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with ambiguity.
