Job Roles & Responsibilities:
Power BI Development & Management:
- Lead the creation and enhancement of Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across the RCM process, including patient billing, claims management, denials, payment posting, and accounts receivable.
- Design and build scalable, dynamic, and visually intuitive Power BI reports that provide actionable insights into revenue cycle metrics such as Days in AR, Clean Claim Rate, Denial Rate, and Cash Collections.
- Ensure data is being efficiently sourced from various healthcare systems (e.g , EHR/EMR, practice management systems, billing software, payer data) to generate comprehensive and accurate reports.
- Optimize Power BI reports for performance, ensuring that the data refresh schedules meet operational requirements.
- Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration.
- Manage and mentor a team of Power BI developers, analysts, and report designers within the RCM domain.
- Collaborate with RCM leaders, finance teams, IT, and operational departments to understand reporting needs, identify data gaps, and create tailored BI solutions.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure reports are relevant, user friendly, and aligned with clinical and financial goals.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects, balancing deadlines and business needs.
- Healthcare Data Governance & Quality Assurance.
- Establish and enforce data governance practices to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of healthcare RCM data across the reporting process.
- Implement data validation protocols and ensure that reports are accurate, complete, and comply with industry regulations (e.g , HIPAA).
- Troubleshoot and resolve any data discrepancies or reporting issues, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Performance Tracking & Analytics:
- Analyze RCM performance data and identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement and revenue optimization.
- Create predictive models and data visualizations to help RCM leaders forecast financial outcomes and trends in claims processing, collections, and denials.
- Monitor and report on the efficiency of RCM operations and provide recommendations for improving operational workflows.
Training & User Support:
- Provide training to internal stakeholders on how to interpret and leverage Power BI reports effectively.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all Power BI-related questions or issues, offering ongoing support to users within the organization.
Continuous Improvement & Industry Awareness:
- Stay current with the latest trends in healthcare RCM and Power BI features to continuously improve reporting capabilities.
- Advocate for innovations in BI tools, automation, and technologies that improve RCM processes and reporting.
Candidate Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- A masters degree or certifications in healthcare or data analytics is a plus.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in Power BI development, analytics, or business intelligence, with a focus on healthcare or revenue cycle management.
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership or management role, overseeing a team of analysts or BI professionals.
- Experience working with healthcare data, including knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management processes such as billing, coding, insurance claims, collections, and payment posting.
- Familiarity with healthcare data sources and systems such as Electronic Health Records (EHR), Practice Management Systems (PMS), claims management software, or payer systems.
- Strong understanding of healthcare KPIs, metrics, and compliance regulations (e.g, HIPAA, HITECH).
Technical Skills:.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI (Desktop, Service), including Power Query, DAX, and report development.
- Proficient in working with databases, SQL, and data modeling.
- Strong experience with ETL processes and integrating data from disparate healthcare systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g, Azure, AWS) and healthcare-specific BI tools is a plus.
Soft Skills:.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical data to non technical stakeholders, including RCM leaders and clinicians.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to identify trends and insights from large datasets.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast paced healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications :.
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI) or other related certifications.
- Familiarity with RCM software and platforms such as Epic, Cerner, NextGen, or McKesson.
- Knowledge of healthcare financial reporting standards and regulations.
