Job Profile Summary:

- The HSE Lead supports and facilitates the implementation of the company's HSE Management

- The system is typically at the OpCo level. The HSE Lead supports the organization by providing timely, accurate, and pertinent HSE support. This will be achieved by leading a team of dedicated HSE

- Advisors, supporting safety-focused operations personnel across multiple locations. The HSE Lead will also lead the relevant business and contribute to a sustainable and independent safety culture.

- Success in this position is dependent on very strong interpersonal and influencing skills, sound judgment, operational and technical credibility, initiative, and implementation change, together with a good understanding of the products, processes, markets, and businesses served.

Job Description:

Job Context:

- The HSE Lead is the 2nd line HSE specialist role, commonly positioned at the OpCo level, and reporting directly to the General Manager (business reporting line), to underpin the overarching importance of Health, Safety and Environment to the business and simultaneously reporting in dotted line to the HSE Manager (functional reporting), to coordinate the deployment and implementation of the Global HSE Standards.

- The General Manager and the HSE Lead have a joined responsibility for hiring, firing, target-setting and appraisal of the HSE Advisors/employees

- The level of the role of the HSE Lead relates to the size and complexity of the entity.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Qualification:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience, preferably Engineering

- At least 5-7 years of strong environmental and or safety experience in the manufacturing operations and multi-site HSE management

Preferred qualification:

- A bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification.

- Chartered Member of IOSH / Certified Safety Professional (CSP) / Senior SafetySpecialist (HVK) or equivalent

- Certification and experience as a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor are desirable

- A passion for Safety cultural support in an organisation

- Confirmed ability to deliver processes effectively to optimize business resources

- Strong project management skills

- Business acumen and the ability to partner and communicate effectively with employees and business counterparts

- NEBOSH Certification
