Head - Health/Safety & Environment - Infrastructure/Energy/Logistics Industry (10-20 yrs)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) from Infrastructure, Energy or Logistics industry to lead our client's organization's safety, environmental, and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in the infrastructure, energy, or logistics sectors and will be responsible for fostering a culture of safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in HSE practices.

Key Responsibilities:

HSE Leadership:

- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE policies and systems in line with industry best practices.

- Provide strategic leadership to ensure a proactive and consistent approach to health, safety, and environmental management across the organization.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards.

- Act as the point of contact for HSE audits, inspections, and regulatory engagements.

Risk Management:

- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.

- Develop strategies and programs to mitigate risks and prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and environmental incidents.

Training and Development:

- Design and deliver HSE training programs to employees, contractors, and stakeholders.

- Promote awareness and accountability for HSE performance at all levels.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

- Establish HSE performance metrics and reporting systems to measure success and identify areas for improvement.

- Prepare and present detailed HSE reports to senior management and other stakeholders.

Emergency Preparedness:

- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure the organization is equipped to handle potential incidents effectively.

Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship:

- Champion sustainability initiatives that align with the organization's goals.

- Lead efforts to minimize environmental impact and improve resource efficiency.

Key Requirements:

Educational Qualification:

- Bachelor's/master's degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.

Experience:

- Minimum 10 years of HSE management experience, with a proven track record in the infrastructure, energy, or logistics sectors.

- Strong knowledge of HSE laws, standards, and best practices applicable to these industries.

Skills:

- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proficiency in incident investigation techniques and risk assessment methodologies.
