Data Center Manager

As a Datacenter Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and personnel management within the datacenter facility. You will ensure the efficient and reliable functioning of critical infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, and cooling systems, to support the organization's IT operations. Additionally, you will lead a team of engineers and technicians, establish operational procedures, and maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of datacenter operations, including facility management, equipment maintenance, and service delivery, to ensure uninterrupted availability of IT services.
• Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures for datacenter operations, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of datacenter infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and power distribution units (PDUs).
• Monitor datacenter performance metrics, such as uptime, power usage, and cooling efficiency, and implement optimization measures to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Lead a team of datacenter engineers, technicians, and support staff, providing direction, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely procurement of equipment, parts, and services.
• Develop and manage the datacenter budget, tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices for datacenter operations, including security, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with IT teams, including network, security, and systems administrators, to support infrastructure requirements and implement changes and upgrades.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for datacenter-related issues, incidents, and escalations, providing timely resolution and communication to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CDCP, DCIE) is a plus.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in datacenter operations, infrastructure management, or related roles, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or managerial position.
• Strong technical knowledge of datacenter infrastructure, including servers, networking, storage, and cooling systems, with a focus on high availability and reliability.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and leading teams, with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures to optimize datacenter operations and support business objectives.
• Experience with datacenter management tools and software, such as DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) systems, monitoring solutions, and automation tools.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for datacenter operations, including ITIL, ANSI/TIA-942, and Uptime Institute Tier Standards.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and requirements while maintaining a focus on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
