Job Summary :
As a Datacenter System Administrator specializing in Linux systems, you will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Linux-based servers and infrastructure within the datacenter environment. Your role will involve ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of Linux systems to support business operations and applications. You will collaborate with other IT teams to implement best practices, automate tasks, and optimize the Linux server environment.
Responsibilities:

1. Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software on physical and virtual servers.
2. Monitor system performance and resource utilization, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server configurations for maximum efficiency.
3. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls on Linux systems, following security best practices and policies.
4. Implement and maintain system monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues.
5. Perform routine system backups, disaster recovery planning, and periodic testing to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
6. Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and security updates in accordance with change management procedures.
7. Collaborate with network administrators to configure and troubleshoot network connectivity for Linux servers.
8. Automate repetitive tasks and workflows using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
9. Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference.
10. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Linux system administration.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
2. Extensive experience with Linux operating systems, including CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu, or Debian.
3. Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools for Linux system administration tasks.
4. Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall configuration.
5. Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware vSphere or KVM, and containerization platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
6. Familiarity with storage technologies, file systems, and RAID configurations on Linux servers.
7. Knowledge of security best practices for Linux systems, including encryption, intrusion detection, and access controls.
8. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
9. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
