Trainee - Design

The Trainee - Design is an entry-level position where the individual will be responsible for supporting the design team in creating product concepts, sketches, and digital designs. This role is designed to help the trainee gain hands-on experience and develop their design skills under the mentorship of senior designers and engineers.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist in Design Creation : Support senior designers in developing design concepts, sketches, and prototypes for new products or product enhancements.
• Design Development : Work on drafting, 2D/3D modeling, and rendering of designs using software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
• Prototyping Support : Assist in the creation of prototypes, ensuring that the design meets technical specifications and design goals.
• Research and Analysis : Conduct market research to understand design trends, customer preferences, and competitor products to inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams : Work closely with engineering, marketing, and production teams to ensure design concepts align with product development goals and manufacturing capabilities.
• Design Modifications : Support in the iteration and modification of designs based on feedback from senior designers or product development teams.
• Documentation : Maintain design documentation, including sketches, specifications, and revisions, ensuring that records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Quality Checks : Assist in performing quality checks on design elements to ensure that they meet the required standards, both aesthetically and functionally.
• Learning and Development : Take an active role in learning and improving design techniques, tools, and methodologies through training and hands-on experience.
• Time Management : Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and provide support for multiple design tasks simultaneously.
• Presentation Support : Prepare and present design concepts to internal teams or clients, ensuring clear communication of design ideas and rationale.

Skills and Qualifications :

• Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree or ongoing education in Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Software Skills : Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools).
• Creativity : Strong creative skills and the ability to generate innovative ideas and concepts.
• Attention to Detail : High attention to detail in producing accurate and precise design work.
• Communication : Good verbal and written communication skills to present and explain design concepts effectively.
