Hvac Supervisor

Accountabilities

Project Planning and Execution:

• Interpret HVAC layout drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to guide installation work.
• Coordinate daily activities of the HVAC team to ensure efficient resource use and schedule adherence.
• Supervise the installation, fitting, and testing of HVAC systems across assigned ship blocks.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations during all phases of HVAC work.

Quality Control and Inspection:

• Perform quality checks on installations to ensure they meet shipbuilding and HVAC standards.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to inspect completed HVAC systems.
• Document and address any installation issues or non-conformities, implementing corrective measures as necessary.

Team Supervision and Development:

• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to HVAC technicians to build team competence.
• Maintain a safe work environment, emphasizing the importance of safety procedures and protocols.
• Assess team performance, provide feedback, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaboration with Other Departments:

• Liaise with machinery outfitting, piping, and electrical teams to integrate HVAC systems with other block outfitting components.
• Coordinate with the procurement and inventory teams to ensure HVAC materials and spare parts are available as required.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare daily progress reports and communicate any issues or delays to the Head of Machinery Outfitting.
• Maintain accurate records of HVAC installations, inspections, and testing for each block.
• Assist in preparing completion documentation and handover reports.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Experience:

• 5-8 years of experience in HVAC systems, preferably in shipbuilding, oil & gas, offshore infrastructure, or heavy engineering.
• Proven track record in a supervisory role with experience in large-scale industrial or marine HVAC installations, including defect rectification./

Functional and Behavioral Competency:

• Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles, installation techniques, and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and HVAC layout plans.
• Excellent team leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a technical workforce.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office and HVAC-specific software for documentation and reporting.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve technical and operational challenges efficiently.
• Effective communication skills for internal and external collaboration.
