C.V. Raman Global University (CGU), Odisha started in 1997 as a degree-level engineering college, named as C.V. Raman College of Engineering (CVRCE). • Ms. Manisha Padhi, alumni of CGU have been appointed as the ADC to The Honble Governor of Mizoram in 2023 and became the first ever female to hold the position.
• Ms. Swagatika Mohanty, Civil Engineering (2013-17), has bagged the 15th rank in Odisha Civil Services Exam in 2023 and is now a functional, respectable, responsible OAS.
• Safia Aktar, Anshu Kumari, and Radhika Rani Panda won the 1st prize at 10-Hour Women Hackathon” organised by Trithon Triplets 2k23.
• Abhishek Kumar, B.Tech (ECE) awarded the Visweswaraya Prativa Puraskar at Odisha Technological Conclave, 2023.
• Mr. Praveen Giri won the Silver Medal in the area of Water Technology at World Skills, Stuttgart, Germany, 2022.
• Mr. Subrat Patel won Medallion of Excellence in the area of Restaurant Services at World Skills, Stuttgart, Germany, 2022.
• 9 students represented India in World skills 2022 in 7 various Skills.
• CGU won Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022 in Software Edition.

About BEST

Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) is a flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Bajaj Auto Ltd. dedicated to bridging the critical skills gap in the manufacturing sector. The CGU BEST centre is a collaborative effort to provide hands-on skill development programs for the young individuals, enhancing their employability.

Where You Come In

The Lab Assistant supports the smooth operation of BEST-Centre of Excellence by preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring a safe and organized learning environment, and assisting trainers and trainees during practical sessions.

Supervision Details:

Immediate Supervisor: Course Manager-Full Time Faculty (CGU BEST Centre)

Working Relationship:

Salary Information: Rs 25,000 to Rs.30,000 per month(Depending on the experience & interview performance)

Job Location: Bhubaneswar CGU Campus

Duties & Responsibilities:

1.Laboratory Preparation and Maintenance:

• Set up laboratory equipment, tools, and materials as required for training sessions.
• Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and in proper working condition.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs of lab tools and equipment.

2.Support for Training Activities:

• Assist trainers and trainees during practical demonstrations and experiments.
• Provide guidance to trainees on the proper use of tools, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Monitor ongoing training activities to ensure adherence to safety guidelines

3.Inventory Management:

• Maintain an inventory of lab supplies, tools, and materials.
• Request procurement of additional supplies and equipment when necessary.
• Organize and label equipment and materials for easy access.

4.Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure the lab complies with safety and health regulations.
• Regularly inspect and address potential hazards within the lab.
• Provide first aid assistance if required and respond promptly to emergencies.

5.Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inventory, and maintenance schedules.
• Document safety checks and report any issues to supervisors.

6.General Support:

• Provide administrative support for lab-related training programs.
• Collaborate with trainers and administrative staff to enhance the training experience.
• Assist in troubleshooting technical issues related to lab equipment.

Who Are We Looking For

• Minimum set Qualification: M.Tech in Manufacturing/ Mechatronics/ Motion Control and Sensor Technology/ Robotics/ ECE/EIE/EEE/IIoT/Computing
• Experience: 1 Year (Skill Training Centre)

What We Expect from You as the Lab Assistant:

The ideal candidate is expected to have expertise in handling lab equipment & techniques, troubleshooting experiments & equipment, adhering to lab safety protocols.
