Sustainability Lead - Pharma/Biotech Business

Main Responsibilities :

Lead the development and execution of environmental strategies and action plans as a broad-based, company-wide strategic sustainability initiative, integrating sustainability throughout the company and ensure that the sustainability effort enhances business performance and supports the long-term interests of the company.

Job Role & responsibilities:

• Lead the effort to create a sustainability vision for the Company encompassing people, profit and planet. Develop the business case to address sustainability issues.
• Lead the implementation and compliance of Environmental policies and practices as per the legislation.
• Coordinate and monitor the Performance of Effluent and sewage treatment plants as per the PCB requirements.
• Draft & Lead Sustainability initiatives to keep Sustainability best practices top of mind for all employees.
• Measure and monitor progress against sustainability strategies, objectives and performance targets
• Develop Sustainability Report in collaboration with multiple functional stakeholders (Internal and External)
• Build effective partnerships with external organizations to support sustainability efforts.
• Lead and support the team in data collection & analysis, case study and report development
• Establish monitoring frameworks and capture cumulative footprints of energy, waste, water and air quality
• Form and lead an internal Sustainability Steering Committee that will help shape and initially oversee the launch of the Sustainability effort of the company.
• Foster a culture of sustainability through ongoing organizational communications and education.
• Support for initiatives to reduce company-wide resource consumption and waste generation.
• Organize and promote Monthly Sustainability meetings and awareness programs
• Conduct Sustainability Surveys and feedback for the site.
• Assess the organizations current sustainability performance and identify and prioritize the organizations key sustainability issues

Preferred candidate profile

Should have through knowledge on Environment legislations/laws Govt. of India & State Govt.

Should have excellent communication and soft skills.

GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) & Lead Auditor ISO 18001:2007 certification (Value added)
