Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Business Development Officer (BDO) for Dealer Management will be responsible for driving business growth and strengthening Franke Fabers market presence through effective dealer management across the Kollam and Trivandrum markets. This role will focus on identifying, onboarding, and managing relationships with dealers, ensuring their success, and promoting Franke Faber’s products in the local market. The BDO will also collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure the alignment of goals and execution of sales strategies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Dealer Recruitment and Expansion

  • Identify and recruit new dealers across Kollam and Trivandrum to expand the distribution network for Franke Faber’s products.
  • Conduct detailed market assessments to identify regions and segments with high potential for new dealer partnerships.
  • Present Franke Faber’s value proposition to prospective dealers, emphasizing product quality, brand reputation, and support systems.
  • Develop and implement strategies for dealer recruitment and onboarding, ensuring smooth integration into the Franke Faber network.

2. Dealer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential dealers, ensuring effective communication and partnership.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for dealers, addressing their needs, queries, and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Regularly visit dealer locations to understand their requirements, provide product training, and offer support for business growth.
  • Conduct regular dealer performance reviews and provide feedback to help them improve sales performance and achieve mutual growth goals.

3. Sales Support and Strategy Implementation

  • Support dealers by providing sales tools, product knowledge, and promotional material to help them effectively market and sell Franke Faber products.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to organize dealer-specific promotional campaigns, product launches, and regional events to drive brand awareness and sales.
  • Monitor dealer sales activities and ensure they align with Franke Faber’s business objectives and brand positioning.
  • Assist dealers in setting up displays, arranging product demonstrations, and optimizing their sales environments for maximum impact.

4. Sales Monitoring and Target Achievement

  • Monitor the sales performance of dealers in Kollam and Trivandrum, ensuring they meet the defined sales targets and KPIs.
  • Implement corrective actions or sales training as required to improve dealer performance and ensure achievement of regional sales goals.
  • Provide dealers with regular updates on product availability, new launches, and promotional offers to support their sales efforts.
  • Track and analyse dealer sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of improvement.

5. Market Analysis and Competitor Monitoring

  • Conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape and dealer performance in Kollam and Trivandrum.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor offerings, and share insights with the sales and marketing teams for strategic adjustments.
  • Identify areas of opportunity within the market and develop strategies to capitalize on these opportunities, such as exclusive offers or new product introductions.

6. Training and Development

  • Organize regular training programs and workshops for dealers, focusing on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Ensure dealers are well-informed about Franke Faber’s products, features, and benefits, enabling them to effectively present the brand to customers.
  • Train dealers on the use of CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and other platforms to track sales, inventory, and customer data.

7. Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of dealer interactions, sales performance, and progress towards business goals.
  • Regularly update the CRM system with dealer information, sales activities, and follow-up actions.
  • Submit detailed reports on dealer performance, market trends, and sales activities to the Area Sales Manager and senior management.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and track dealer growth to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.

Key Requirements

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, or a related field.
  • An MBA in Sales & Marketing or equivalent is a plus.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in business development, dealer management, or sales, preferably within the kitchen appliances, home appliances, or building materials sectors.
  • Prior experience managing dealer networks and working closely with sales teams is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of dealer management processes, sales cycles, and relationship-building strategies.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building abilities, with a focus on long-term partnerships and mutual business growth.
  • Ability to analyse sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM tools, and other sales software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing market dynamics.

Travel Requirements:

  • Regular travel within Kollam and Trivandrum to meet with dealers, attend site visits, and oversee business development initiatives.
